My Reflection

         

                Educational Teachonology is a field which is concerned with the practice of using educational methods and resources for the ultimate goal of facilitating the learning process. That is what I learned in our subject “Edtech 1”. Edtech 1 is totally different with Edtech 2. Edtech 2 is more on practical and manipulating tools compared to Edtech 1 which is more on principles and theory. Honestly, both are very tiring and stressful yet very meaningful and helpful to me as a student and a future teacher.

            There are so many things I learned from this subject. It brings new knowledge and skills to a newbie like me. From drawing and shading to manoeuvring equipments and tools for instruction. I learned the techniques in drawing, sketching and shading because of this subject. Computer applications were taught too like MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint , MS Publisher and Movie maker. These applications are important for it helps in our future career as teacher. MS Word is important for it allows us to right any documents while MS Excel will help us compute the grades of our students for instance. We can make or present our lesson in an innovative way by the use of MS Powerpoint. By this, it will catch their attention through the use of different effects, transitions and animations. You can also add images, graphics, picture or even videos. It is really helpful for you can use this application instead of using visual aids in your discussion. I also learned how to make a certificate, business card and greeting card. So now, I can customize and make what I want. Through the application movie maker, I knew how to make a movie. And because of this activity, we became instant actors and actresses of our own educational movie. It was so fun.

            Now, technology makes the world go around and it is the most influential thing in this world. It affects our actions. Technology can be used in a destructive or in a meaningful way and this subject taught us how to use it in a productive and beneficial way.  As time goes by, teachers should be more innovative and creative in delivering our topics to our students and technology is helping us. Technologies are made as a tool to improve lives and not a machine for destruction. As a student and a future teacher, the skills I acquired and developed from this subject is very helpful in my teaching career. I will share and apply all the learnings I got from this subject. A big piece of me was connected towards becoming a teacher.  By all the learnings I got, I can improve myself and my teaching skills for the betterment of my future students. What I experienced and learned from this subject will always remain in my mind and I’m happy to impart all of these to others.

Exercise No. 11 - " Educational Show"

            Exercise No. 11 is entitled " Movie Maker". In this activity, we've been tasked to create an educational movie or show using the application movie maker. This software application allows us to make a personal or group movie and add different effects to make it awesome. In here, we became actors and actresses of our own show. 

                This activity is the most amazing for me. I learned a lot from it. This is very important for you can make your own educational shows to catch the interest of the students. This activity made us a potential actors and actresses. We were able to add different effects and styles to make our educational movie stand out from the rest.

Exercise No.10 - " Microsoft Publisher"

            Exercise No. 10 is entitled " Microsoft Publisher". In this activity, we've been tasked to create certificate, greeting card and business card using the software application " MS Publisher".

               In this activity, I learned to create, design and customize my own certificate, greeting card and business card. This activity is very important to me because in the future, I can now make my own certificates for my students, greeting cards for my love ones and business card for my business.

Exercise No. 9 - " Microsoft Excel"

          Exercise No. 9 is entitled "Microsoft Excel". Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet application typically used to display and manipulate numerical data. In this activity, we've been tasked to compute grades using this software application.

         In this activity, I learned to compute grades using different formulas. This activity is very important because in the future, if i will be computing the grades of my students, I can use this software application to make my work easier and faster, less hassle and accurate than computing it manually. This application is important in presenting numerical data or financial reports.

Exercise No.8 - " Microsoft Powerpoint"

      Exercise 8 is entitled " MS Powerpoint". In this activity, we've been tasked to make a powerpoint presentation about the lesson plan we chose in Exercise 7. MS Powerpoint is the software application used in this activity that is capable of creating different presentations you want.

      In this activity, I learned that MS Powerpoint is an important software application because as a future teacher, we should be innovative in presenting our topics or lessons to catch and hold the interest of the students. Instead of making IM's for our lesson, we can make a powerpoint presentation. MS Powerpoint has so many effects, transitions and you can add graphics, images, videos and sounds. These will surely help you in your discussion.

Exercise No. 7 - " Microsoft Word"

      Exercise 7 is entitled "Ms Word". In this activity, we've been tasked to write a detailed lesson plan in the computer using the application Microsoft Word. This activity is important because it will teach us how to use Microsoft Word in writing something.

       In this activity, I learned that Microsoft Word, or Word as it is commonly known, is a software application that allows you to perform word processing. You may use Word to create documents such as letters, invitations, term papers, flyers, resumes, novels, and much more. By this activity, I learned to create lesson plan using this software application.

Exercise No. 6 - "OHP"

    Exercise No. 6 is entitled "OHP" or Overhead Projector. In this activity, we've been tasked to write a lesson in a transparency film to be projected using the Overhead Projector. This activity is essential because in the future, we will be teaching and we can use OHP in presenting our topics or lessons.

       In this activity, I learned several techniques that we can use in making a lesson in transparency film. We can apply over lay, shading and etc. Using "OHP" in our lesson is important for it makes our work easier and the students will understand better. By presenting a lesson or topic in this way, it will eliminate unnecessary information making our lesson a smooth-sailing one.
